Pick Apples in Julian, CA
About one hour from La Mesa, CA, Julian is the perfect little town for all of your Fall activities and beautiful foliage. Known for its historic gold mining, this picturesque town holds their annual Apple Days Festival throughout September, where you can pick apples from beautiful trees, eat some delicious apple pie, and sip on warm apple cider while exploring all that Julian has to offer.
Explore San Diego’s Haunted Attractions
Starting in September, you can stroll through some of San Diego’s best spooky attractions such as haunted houses, hotels, trails, and more. Located in Balboa Park, one of San Diego’s most popular haunted attractions is the mile-long haunted trail which will be sure to give you goosebumps!
Pick the Perfect Pumpkin
While there are several pumpkin patches found throughout San Diego county, Bates Nut Farm might need to be at the top of your list. Come join the fun and grab a wheelbarrow as you walk through hundreds of pumpkins to find the perfect one for you. After finding that perfect Jack-o’-lantern, you can travel through the straw maze, participate in games, attend the petting zoo, or grab a yummy treat at their gift shop and enjoy the picture-perfect pumpkin patch that will be sure to make you smile.
Watch Some October Baseball
When it comes to sports, it’s hard to find something more exciting than October baseball! If the Padres are in town, we highly recommend visiting the incredible Petco Park and checking out the Padres during one of their most exciting seasons! Not into baseball? No problem! Head on over to La Mesa, CA on October 1st-3rd as we celebrate this cities 48th year of Oktoberfest! With endless activities and vendors, you can join in on the fun of live music, delicious food (Bratwursts and Pretzels are a must), and a plethora of German and craft beer options to choose from. For added fun, dress up in your best Munich-inspired outfit and have some fun on the dance floor!
